Day Four

Now the days are flying by!

Somehow I think the busy-ness of wedding logistics is helping me get through this cleanse. I'm not preoccupied with food, or hunger, for that matter.

This morning we had a cucumber, pineapple, lime, cilantro, turmeric juice. Yum! So light and refreshing, yet the greens and the sweetness give me energy. I think next time I would do without the turmeric in this mix, or sub for ginger.

After going to barre fitness class I made myself a sparkling aloe limeade, just 1 oz aloe juice, 6 drops stevia, juice of 1/2 lime, and sparkling water. A great way to keep hydrated since it can be difficult to drink enough plain water.

Lunch was carrot, apple, beet, ginger juice. I'm using more fruit in my juices this week than I normally would when making juice on a daily basis. I think my body needs a bit of the sugar for energy, and it also tastes SO good that it's easier to stay on track with the cleanse.

Still drinking the Smooth Move tea before bed. Sorry for the details, but when doing a juice or water fast, it's very important that your body is eliminating solid waste. (That's kind of the point!?) I'm almost down to clear liquid elimination. I hadn't been taking any psyllium but I think I will have some today and tomorrow, to move out anything remaining. I'm drinking sparkling water as motivation to keep everything fluid and hydrated. I can't emphasize this enough!

My mind is already going to the end of the cleanse, and reintroducing solid food. It's so exciting! And meals will taste even more delicious! But I'm having to remind myself to curb, or channel, a bit of that excitement. It is so important to go slow when reintroducing foods and completing a cleanse. I also don't want to reset to any unhealthy patterns: overeating, sugar cravings, overindulging in alcohol or coffee.

Dan and I talked about having a smoothie or a soup for dinner tomorrow. There is a borscht recipe in the Meal Plan, excellent for the last night. Saturday will need to be lots of raw fruits and vegetables, salad, broth. I'll write more about reintegration tomorrow and through the weekend.

For now, juicing all I can out of this cleanse, and reaping the benefits!
Wishing you all clarity, wholeness, and focus,
Shannon
